The gatorsnapper's favorite photography locations
Florida is a photographer's dreamland. Living in Palm Beach County I confine most of my photography to local convenient locations. Among my favorites are:
Wakodahatchee Wetlands, 13026 jog Road, Delray Beach, Florida. A beautful boardwlk awaits the photographer with opportunity to photograph a multitude of birds, alligators, turtles, iguanas and sunsets.
Green Cay Wetlands, 12800 Hagen Ranch Road, Boynton Beach, Florida.
Two boardwalks greet the photographer; one-half mile and a mile. Opportunities to photograph alligators, birds, turtles, scenery and sunsets. A visitor center a nd Tiki Hut are present.
Arthur Marshall Loxahatchee Preserve, 10216 Lee Road, Boynton Beach, Florida. Many trails await the photographer for exploraton. There is also a Cypres Swamp complete with Boardwalk. A multitude of wildlife can be photographed including alligators, birds, turtles, and magnificent sunsets near the fishing dock. A visitor center is present.
Wellington peaceful Waters Sanctuary located in Wellington Regional Park, 11700 Pierson Road, Wellington, Florida. Well planned wetland featuring a 1500 ft boardwalk and 7/10 mile walking trail plus benches that lend themselves to sitting and relaxing.
Okeeleehee park located at 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard west of West Palm Beach is a photographer's oasis with something for everyone including landscapes, sports, people, and wildlife photography. The only limiting factor is the photographer's imagination. A beautiful nature center is present with a multitude of exhibits, and behind the nature center are many trails leading to wetlands and forest areas. Okeeheelee's 1700 acres provide plenty of room to roam.
West Delray Park located at 10875 Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida, exhibits magnificant landscape and lake photography along with wildlife. The park also contains a Ham Radio Club Station (Boca Amateur Radio Association....I am a member), and radio controlled model airplane, model car track, and model helicopter fields. Great pictures!!
Mounts Botanical Gardens, 531 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. Beautiful paths and magnificent gardens provide the ultimate photographic experiece. Great location for macrophotography.
Lake Worth Fishing Pier. Located at Lake Worth Beach. Fishing pier extending into the Atlantic ocean featuring seagulls, pelicans, and fisherman. Great location for seascape and seashore photography. A small restaurant is located at the pier.
